About WHS Statutory Supervisory Course

Get the training you need with the two units of competence required for Statutory Supervisors in Western Australia. The WHS Statutory Supervisor training includes the approved WHS risk management units for statutory positions under Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.

 

This course is designed for supervisors and managers needing to gain the necessary leadership knowledge and skills to ensure they effectively manage health and safety in their area of responsibility and understand workplace health and safety legislation.

 

WHS​ Statutory Supervisory Course Topics:
  • WHS legislation framework

  • Managers/supervisors roles and responsibilities within the legislation

  • Gaining a practical understanding of the WHS Act and Regulations

  • WHS consultation and participation processes

  • Risk management and hazard control

  • Identification of training needs

  • Analysing WHS data

WHS​ Statutory Supervisory Course Delivery

Public

  • Three days face to face course duration at Schrole Osborne Park Training Premises.

  • Integration of theory and interactive practical activities and scenarios delivered by highly experienced WHS specialists.

  • Completion of workplace assessment after training which directly apply to the workplace are required.

On-site at your workplace

  • This training can be customised and delivered onsite as an in-house program (minimum numbers apply).

WHS​ Statutory Supervisory Course Nationally Recognised Units of Competency

The Statutory Supervisor training comprises of two units of competency:

  • BSBWHS411 – Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs.

  • BSBWHS414 – Contribute to WHS risk management.

The units delivered will meet the expected WorkSafe requirements for statutory supervisors under Schedule 26 of the WHS (Mines) Regulations (WA) 2022.

 

In addition to this course there is also an examination component for Statutory Supervisors. This is managed by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS). Visit the WA government website for more information.
