Course overview

The Certificate IV in Training & Assessment focuses on designing and conducting training and assessment activities in the vocational industry.

The learning program and the case studies/ scenarios in this course requires a minimum level of knowledge in your industry and training/assessing in the workplace.

Target audience

This qualification is suitable for people working in a training and assessment role in their chosen industry, at a registered training organisation (RTO) or delivering accredited VET courses.

It is also recommended for individuals who have skills and experience in a particular field and would like to move into a training role as the next step in their career and for on the job trainers who would like to advance their career further.

Individuals working in a learning and development role will also benefit from this qualification and enhance their knowledge of designing and developing effective training programs.

Face-to-face in workshops

The Certificate IV Training and Assessment is delivered face to face over four modules (10 units of competency) at our Osborne Park Training facility.

The modules are spread over a minimum of six months to embed the application of learning in the workplace.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of prior learning is suitable for individuals who have evidence of previous skills and experience in a training and assessment environment. This could be experience from formal or informal education or previous work experience.  If the learner believes they may be eligible for recognition of prior learning please complete our RPL/Credit Transfer Application Form or contact us on 08 9230 7010 to speak to one of our experienced facilitators.  Please read our Recognition Policy regarding recognition of prior learning.

Pre-course Information

Prior to enrolling into this course please review the following information that outlines all terms and conditions and your rights and responsibilities.

LLN and assessment support

This qualification requires individuals to have a high level of language, literacy and numeracy skills to design training programs, interpret training packages, deliver training to individuals and groups, and determine competency.

As part of the enrolment process, individuals are required to complete a self-assessment survey. This allows the facilitator to determine the support that is required throughout the course.

The self-assessment survey can be downloaded here for completion and submission at least two days prior to the course start date.

Appeals and complaints

If a learner has an issue with any aspect of their training course they should bring this to the attention of their trainer or to the RTO Manager of Schrole Develop who will attempt to resolve this in an informal  manner to the learner’s satisfaction.

If the learner is not satisfied with the outcome of the informal complaint, they may lodge a formal complaint by completing the formal Complaint and Appeals form.  This will be dealt with in accordance with the Complaints and Appeals policy.

Learners have the right to appeal the outcome of an assessment decision if they are dissatisfied and feel they have been dealt with unfairly. This can be done by completing the Complaint and Appeals form.  The appeal will be dealt with in accordance with the Complaints and Appeals policy.

Fees and refunds

Schrole Develop’s training and assessment course allows for individuals to enrol into modules instead of the whole qualification.  The fees for each module can be found on the relevant webpage.

Course fee payments or deposits up to $1500 are required 7 working days prior to the commencement of the course.  At no time will Schrole Develop invoice an individual learner more than $1500 prior to the commencement of a course.

Credit transfers

Schrole Develop recognises qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations.  Learners who have successfully completed equivalent units of competency with another RTO can apply for a credit transfer.  

Learners may apply for a Credit Transfer for any of the equivalent units by submitting an RPL/Credit Transfer Application Form and Verification of Qualification Permission Form along with original or certified certificates and record of results or a statement of attainment, by uploading both forms and evidence here.

Certification

The TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification will be issued to learners after they have attended all the training sessions and are deemed competent in all their assessments for each of the 10 units of competency.
